Instructor Area: Houston, Texas

At the age of 3 years old, The Fist of Fury was my first introduction to martial arts. Out of the amazement of seeing Bruce Lee for the first time, I began studying and practicing the different styles of martial arts shown on Kung Fu theater since I did not have the opportunity to take actual real martial arts lessons. As I practiced, I knew I wanted to delve deeper into studying martial arts. In 1992, at the age of 20, I had the honor of meeting my first and ONLY Jeet Kune Do instructor, Sifu Michael Gonzales, whom I currently still train under and have done so for the past 27 years.

Sifu Michael Gonzales is a 1st generation Jeet Kune Do student and is one of the first students to become certified as a Full Instructor in Jeet Kune Do under Si-Gung Ted Wong. Si-Gung Ted Wong studied privately under Sijo Bruce Lee and has had more time in private instruction with Bruce Lee than any other individual. Sifu Michael Gonzales is also the Chief Instructor/Chairman of the International Jeet Kune Do Association and has over 33 years of martial arts and western boxing experience. After several years of study, I received my JKD instructor’s certification and started teaching Jeet Kune Do privately.

I am a 3rd generation certified Instructor of Jeet Kune Do, and I have studied directly under both Sifu Michael Gonzales and Si-Gung Ted Wong throughout my years of training in JKD. I have over 25 years of Jeet Kune Do training and experience. My mission is to Practice and Pass on the understanding, refinement, knowledge and teachings of Jeet Kune Do as taught to me by my instructors Sifu Michael Gonzales & Si-Gung Ted Wong.
